Impacting Community with Kingdom Culture

In 1975, Bill Bright, founder of Campus Crusade, and Loren Cunningham, founder of Youth With a Mission, had lunch together in Colorado. God simultaneously gave each of these a message to give to the other. The message in essence was that if we are to impact our nation and communities with the gospel of Jesus Christ, then we would have to impact the seven pillars of society with kingdom cultural concepts. Some have continued to build on this idea, calling it the Seven Mountain Mandate.

These seven mountains are business, government, media, arts and entertainment, education, the family and religion. There are many subgroups under these main categories, but these are where societal cultures are influenced and changed for either good or bad.  We live in a time where the kingdom of darkness seems to be wiser than the kingdom of light for influencing our culture.  Therefore, those who seek to promote God’s kingdom must not be idle, but must be informed, inspired, and intentional about affecting communities with a kingdom culture.

My desire is to connect with others who desire to make a difference in our communities by becoming Impact Leaders and Change Agents. There are many challenges facing our communities, and those who desire for “good” to prevail must not sit idle while “darkness” continues to rule over our communities.

We are again in the times of Elijah, preparing the way for the coming of the Lord. Isaiah, the prophet said we should build a “highway” to bring up the low places, and make the crooked paths straight.

“…Make straight in the desert A highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted And every mountain and hill brought low; The crooked places shall be made straight And the rough places smooth; The glory of the LORD shall be revealed, And all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the LORD has spoken” (Isa.40:3b-5).

We live in a stressful environment online doctor viagra where we are constantly bombarded with huge amount of data and the art of managing the entirety will only help us in managing our health in a holistic fashion. As with any medicine, there are possible side effects, so that you know exactly what to look for. low priced viagra The mountains here are strongholds where the strong rule over the weak and the low places are the oppressed who desire freedom from oppressive systems that keep them in bondage.  Kingdom citizens are therefore instructed to make a difference in the world.

God’s kingdom has to do with promoting God’s will, not only in our individual lives, but also in our families, our communities, our nation, and in the world.  Movements are happening in many nations where persons and groups are deliberate and intentional about bringing positive change.  Don’t be left behind in allowing God to use you in our generation.

In times like today, when everything seem to be coming apart at the seams, God raises up others who like the sons of Issachar, can discern the signs of the times (see  1 Chron. 12:32-33).  They recognize when old things are passing away and new things are coming forth, and are like mid-wives who help give birth to the “new.”

God gives prophetic insight and wisdom for addressing challenging times.  Like God raised up Joseph to go before others to preserve life, God is giving persons ideas that will not only bring positive change and hope for others, but will also preserve others in future years to come.  Those who are being so stirred must not wait for others.  Neither must they wait for everything to be just right.  They must take the lead, willing to go before others to preserve life.

If you are so stirred or have a community concern worth addressing, please contact me.  Bringing positive change to our communities requires partnership and teamwork. Let us prayerfully consider how God may want to use each of us for promoting His Kingdom in our Communities.

I agree Pastor, so many people believe in what man can do without putting their faith in God and believing what all he is able to do. We do need to build a community of soldiers that is willing and want what God has for those that believe.
